Baths and hair care
When dogs are puppies they cannot be bathed until they have accomplished their vaccination plan. It is convenient to get them used to having a bath since they are puppies, so that it is not so traumatic and scary afterwards.
The bath must be done with white or neutral soap, since fat in their skin is not used to being removed totally as ours; and the use of shampoo or detergent irritates it more than we think they do. Shampoo is only advisable when the veterinarian prescribes it.
Long- haired dogs should be combed daily so that dead hair does not tangle with the rest of the hair and to remove dirt gathered on the skin.
Fleas and ticks are habitual parasites and must be beaten with the products the veterinarian has prescribed before they cause serious infection on the skin or they transmit diseases or parasites.
